Discover Youbo, the innovative reward tool from Teal Partners

At Teal Partners, we build complex software solutions for clients. But did you know that we also developed a tool we are currently launching in the market? We proudly present: Youbo, a reward tool designed to streamline the compensation and benefits process. Business developer Isabelle De Vil and business analyst Ruth Boelens answer five questions about our brand-new software solution.

1. What exactly does Youbo do?

Isabelle: Youbo helps companies to allocate salary increases and bonuses more smoothly. The tool is unique in Europe. From our expertise in HR software and employment, we noticed a gap in the market. We realized that with our specific technological know-how, we could build something revolutionary in the way salary increases and bonuses are allocated. It can be so much better, safer, and easier than how it is done in 99% of companies today.

2. What problem does Youbo solve?

Ruth: Most companies use spreadsheets to allocate salary increases and bonuses. This is time-consuming and error-prone. Few succeed in smoothly translating salary policies and allocation guidelines into spreadsheet formulas. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to find people who can do this. The process is problematic. Documents are split per manager, and at the end of the process, HR merges the documents again. The total often doesn’t add up, for instance, because managers deviated from budgets or guidelines, and then you have to start over. Errors creep into those formulas and the file format. Also, in terms of data security and privacy, spreadsheets do not suffice.
Our tool solves all these problems at once. HR and managers work on the same user-friendly platform. They have real-time insight into the allocation. You can see at a glance if the budget is exceeded, and if so, you can easily calibrate it. Managers allocate increases with the push of a button and can easily consult within the tool. Youbo is GDPR-proof. A user only sees the information intended for them.

3. What is the biggest advantage of Youbo?

Isabelle: For HR and managers: time savings. HR service provider SD Worx uses Youbo for the annual salary increase of 6000 employees. They managed to shorten the reward process from two months to three weeks. That’s impressive.
For CXOs, finance, and legal: more insight. The tool helps companies comply with European wage transparency legislation, mandatory from 2026. With Youbo, you have extensive compensation reports at your fingertips on wage distribution, pay equity, or compa-ratio. What is the ratio between genders or age categories? Are salary increases logically motivated? Are there managers who allocate more bonuses than average? Youbo clearly shows this.
For IT: security and smooth integration. The system is much safer than spreadsheets. Salary data is better protected. Youbo is linked with core HR systems. What HR or managers enter into the tool is processed in the payroll after approval.

4. What do users say?

Ruth: What stands out to everyone immediately is the user-friendliness and efficiency. That is the biggest difference compared to working with spreadsheets. Those who work more intensively with Youbo notice that the reward process fundamentally changes. Managers indicate that they can distribute their budget much more qualitatively. The tool automatically makes a proposal based on the salary policy and entered guidelines. Managers see in real-time what budget they have and the impact of their changes and distribution choices. Data in the tool helps them make decisions, such as an employee’s compa-ratio or comparison among colleagues. They communicate more easily with HR within the tool, for instance, to justify a higher pay for an outperformer. Finally, a company can involve more managers in the evaluation process if desired, from the highest to the lowest level. Especially in larger companies, it is unfeasible to let all levels participate with spreadsheets.
These aspects reduce the workload for HR and contribute to the quality of allocations. It makes compensation fairer. It gives managers more time to invest in qualitative conversations. This really helps a company move forward.

5. Who built Youbo?

Isabelle: A team of six people worked on it for a year and a half: developers, designers, and business developers. We built Youbo so that companies can flexibly plug the tool into their IT solutions. The systems seamlessly communicate with core HR systems and the tools a company already uses. This is very important to us at Teal Partners. Youbo is our first product. We are very proud of it. That SD Worx includes our tool in its range of reward tools is a great recognition.
